Capture the Visualization

Sometimes traveling is about seeing what’s in front of you at the moment.? Every part of the world has a unique surrounding.? Seeing the surroundings in other countries is much more grand than looking at the photos in books. It’s also imperative to stop and admire the scenes where you are standing at the moment because it could be a long time before you’ll see the scenes again or never or it won’t the same when you return years later.

Last Friday night, my aunt and uncle hosted a Shabbat dinner on top of a building overlooking the beautiful city of Jerusalem.? I had the opportunity to see the city transform into various shades of colors as I was there from when the sun was still high up in the sky until it was completely set.

In addition to enjoying viewing the beautiful scenes, gucci purses, I enjoyed the sounds of the beats of people’s feet taping the floor as they danced and the tunes of music sung by a group of adorable young boys.

What a lengthy train ride!

December 23rd, 2009 admin No comments

Now here’s the drama:

Anyways, I finally got on the train with the new set of cars and waited in the train that was immoblised for about 15 minutes.? The train finally took off.? It was dark outside, gucci purses, and I was a little disappointed about that as I wanted to see all the beautiful scenaries, but that was OK as I was on the train for only another hour.

I got to Avignon safely, and my entire host family was there waiting to greet me with lots of kisses.

Anyways, I got on the train for two hours from Pisa to Genova Piazza.? I got off in Genova Piazza for two hours.? I got on the train again for two hours.? I got off in Ventimigilia for two hours. The train ride was magnificent as usual.? The train was riding on the edge of the land during most of the voyage.

The train journey today was long and tough.? Just before I got on the first train for a long journey back to France, I was in a little panic about getting to my first stop which was in Pisa on time as I was going to have only thirty minutes to change the trains.? I was on the train for two hours.? I got off in Pisa for thirty minutes.? Thank goodness that the train was on time!? That was a real miracle because trains in Italy are normally late all the time.? At that moment, I seriously thought that the journey would go smoothly during the rest of the day as I was going to have two hours at all of the other stopovers.? Well… as always, a drama happened later on in the day…

I got back on the train, and I was supposed to be on there for five hours, but I was on there for four hours.? Part of the train broke down in Marseilles.? GREAT!? I was on the part of the train that was broken.? I’m so lucky, am I?? So, I had to lug all of my bags off the train and wait half hour for them to bring a new set of cars to replace the broken set of cars.? While I was waiting for the train, I heard a soft spoken voice coming from somewhere.? Then, I overheard from people who were waiting outside that the train was going to be an hour late.? UGH!? Well, at least this was the last train that I was taking.

Back from SLC

December 3rd, 2009 admin No comments

I am back. Had a wonderful time performing solo in Salt Lake City. Both performances included video-projection of my photos. The Memorial House had a nicer sound than the Alto Club, I thought, but I enjoyed both audiences. End of this week I will do a benefit performance in Cancun, Mexico, gucci purses, and the last performance of the year will be a solo performance on December 22nd at the Vilar Center in Beaver Creek, Colorado.

Two Years Ago Listening Test

December 1st, 2009 admin No comments

Our monsoon continues and we had another fine rain storm this afternoon.

The result was what one would expect: AIFF, followed by FLAC and mp3. What we did not expect was how very close the quality between these formats was. Unless you have a great set of headphones or speakers – and the ears and experience to process what comes through them – you will not hear a difference. Another interesting point was that the treble side of the music was indistinguishable, it was the bass where one could detect shades of difference.

In the morning Jon and I compared AIFF, FLAC and 320kbps mp3 files in my studio, using Stax Earspeakers and a Stax tube amp. The FLAC files had been encoded and decoded using xAct, which is a fine FLAC app for Macintosh. The 320 mp3 was made with Peak Pro, which uses a LAME encoder –,gucci purses; the same encoder we use for the ListeningLounge.

Digital Music

December 1st, 2009 admin No comments

There are critics who blog, but in general I would not consider bloggers the music critics of today. Bloggers have more in common with the guy in the local pub who tells everyone willing to listen about his musical preferences.

Digital music suffering from entrepreneur drain | Beyond Binary – CNET News
Pakman agreed that such influencers are a key factor. “Bloggers are the music critics (of today),” Pakman said.

Yeah, gucci purses, yeah, bloggers replace journalism, bloggers replace music critics, Flickr-members replace photographers, Facebook and Twitter networking replaces meeting friends for a pint…

Buddhism’s alleged an-iconism, much proclaimed during the Prophet Muhammad cartoon frenzy, gucci purses, took another hit last week, when a truly iconoclastic Buddhist in Thailand took a hammer to one of the country’s most beloved shrines. Before twenty-seven-year-old Thanakorn Pakdeepol could completely demolish the revered statue of Brahma in Bangkok’s Erawan Shrine, a mob seized him and beat him to death.
